A Few Minutes With Dr. Emilio: Fireworks and Big Bangs Edition

When we last left The Good Doctor, he was ascending the stairs to the ship, when his assistant yelled out "Dr. Lizardo! Don't get on that ship! The rest of the book, "To Serve Man", it's... it's a cookbook!"

A good day to you, and to all the ships at sea...This is A Few Minutes With Dr. Emilio. The routine should be familiar, yet novel: A Lead Story, a few adult theater related nuggets, an opinion or two, and lastly a photo of The Good Doctor in a public place.

Let's get stared, shall we?

The Busiest Adult Theater Weekend of 2011 (so far)

In The Good Doctor's 25+ years of experience in this thing of ours, I have found that the weekend leading up to and including the 4th of July is one of the busiest adult theater weekends of the year. This was true in the 80's, 90's, 00's, and even into the 10's.

Last weekend once again proved this theory, as it was a crazy weekend in several of the adult theater hot spots across the country.  Chicago (15th Avenue Adult Books and Theater), Biloxi, and Portland (of course) had very strong couples attendance.  As a matter of fact, both Chicago and Biloxi outdrew Portland (which is very rare).  Details on those theaters in the News Nuggets section.

Now the best part is this coming weekend is a very long one... Many people have a 4-day holiday weekend, and that is good news for this thing of ours.  So be patriotic I say... Put on your red, white, and blue, and march into the darkened space of your local adult theater. It will be busy, and hopefully so will you.

  • Last Saturday night, The Good Doctor ventured out into the Chicago night, and made a House Call to 15th Ave Adult Books and Theater in Melrose Park, IL. And what a night it was... 18 Couples walked through the doors of 15th Ave. that night between 8pm and midnight.  That number is a new record as far as my visits to 15th Ave. over the years.  I had an opportunity to talk with a few very nice couples, like P+F and S+H during my visit.  I am also working on a House Call Report for that visit, so look for it in the next few days here at The Journal.
  • Speaking of 15th Avenue, their Couples, Single Females, and T-Girls Free promotion runs through Saturday night.  Take advantage of this if you are in Chicagoland this holiday weekend.
  • The San Diego scene is picking up serious steam this summer, and the fun at The Jolar Cinema and The Barnett Avenue Superstore Theater is strong.  My advice is hit The Jolar early in the week, and Barnett Avenue on Friday when couples get free admission.
  • A quick reminder to visit my good friend and colleague Major Voyeur and his excellent blog, The World of Major Voyeur. Mucho nudity awaits you on the pages of his blog, plus his reports on the St. Louis scene. His Sunday night post is a staple in this thing of ours, and not to be missed.
  • The Good Doctor still needs your adult theater reports in a bad way!  The demand for reports is high, so the supply must stay strong my friends.  A few readers have stepped up this week and you will see their reports in the next couple of days, but we need more of you to step up and join the ranks of Journal reporters. Be the next Brent in Portland, Bob in Biloxi, Tom Austin, Tomkat, The Captain, floyd, Enzyte Bob, JaxBchBum, or OldBeatNik (among countless others). Join the ranks of female contributors like the lovely Emme, the mischievous Kitty, or the very bad girl Jessi.  Just e-mail Ivan Drago The Good Doctor at emiliolizardo1@gmail.com with your report, and I will edit and format your words into a top shelf report.  Try it!  Thanks!
  • There are pockets of adult theater activity that I have not received any reports from recently.  So here is your homework assignment... Please submit reports on:
    • Atlanta (Buford Twin)
    • Seattle (Hollywood Erotic Boutique or Airport Video in Everett, WA)
    • Dallas (The Lido)
    • Berlin, NJ (Berlin News Agency)
    • Niagara Falls, NY (Talk of the Town)
    • Toronto (The Metro or Swing Shift)
    • Wilkes-Barre, PA (Cinema 309)
                Thanks!
  • Just a reminder that if you have any adult theater related questions, please send them via e-mail to me at emiliolizardo1@gmail.com, and I will get back to you as soon as I am able. The best questions will be reprinted (along with others that come in) once a week in a new feature to be called (cleverly enough) "Ask The Good Doctor" (a big thank you to Emme for suggesting this new feature. Your check will be in the mail).  Please keep your questions related to adult theaters, since I will not diagnose medical opinions  (like "why do men have nipples?") via The Journal. And I also have no clue why men have nipples.
  • And lastly, a huge thank you to you, the good readers of The Journal of Adult Theaters.  June once again superseded the prior month's visits.  A little more than 54,000 pageviews were tallied, and that number is just amazing. We are closing in on half a million total pageviews since The Journal's inception... Again, a sincere thank you for your continued support!

  • An update from Sable Mathison (she has returned!)
  • A Flash Report from Tomkat (on the prowl) on the Art Cinema in Hartford
  • More pics and naughtiness from Jessi (is a Bad, Bad Girl)
  • Bob in Biloxi's weekly update from the beautiful Gulf Coast
  • Part 2 of Donny Digital's ABQ Review
      ...and much much more.

Have a safe and fun filled weekend, and remember to support your local adult theater/ABS.

Thanks,
Doc

Flash Report: Chas Reports on Video Liquidators in Buffalo, NY

Let's start off July with a bang (of sorts)...

Doc here with a heartwarming tale that made The Good Doctor smile... A report from back home in Buffalo, NY. Yes, my old stomping ground still has a scene, although it's substantially smaller now.  First time reporter Chas has submitted a terrific report on his visit to Video Liquidators #3 on Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo.

So sit back, relax, and enjoy a double order of Buffalo Wings (hot please) from Chas and his report on Video Liquidators.

Hi Doc,

Tuesday afternoon my wife asked me to drop her off at the store, I asked her how long she would be and she said 2 hours. Just my luck that the store is a block away from Video Liquidators on Elmwood Ave. in Buffalo, NY.
Video Liquidators #3
1770 Elmwood Ave, Buffalo, NY
I figured I'd give it a try. I'd never been there that early, but there were a few cars in the lot. Inside are two theaters: a small one showing mostly gay movies and a larger one showing straight ones. I checked out both and not much was going on. I was going to leave but figured I'd give it a little longer.

The large theater has a wall in the back where you can stand. I saw a couple standing there and figured that she must have been a Tranny.  I was standing a few feet from them when the door opened and I got a good look and she was definitely a female.

I moved closer and the guy nodded, so I reached in and felt a beautiful set of tits. She unbuttoned her blouse giving me full access. I couldn't believe it, the middle of the afternoon and here I was sucking on a beautiful set of tits. She was rubbing my cock when her friend suggested we go to the seats in front. She sat down and undid her skirt giving me access to her whole body. I knelt in front of her and she took my head and pulled it between her legs. Normally I wouldn't have done this but she was just so hot I couldn't resist. She was delicious.

Her friend reached over and handed me a condom and told me she was ready. She said she wanted to put it on so who am I to complain? She put it on and lubed me up. Boy she was ready I slipped right in. It only took a few minutes and she started to cum which triggered me. It was so good I thought I was going to pass out. When I regained my senses, I realized that we were the center of attraction. About 9 guys were standing j/o all around us. She pulled the condom off and took a tissue and cleaned us up. She got dressed and gave me a kiss and said thanks and they left.

Guess who was late picking up his wife?  LOL.

Doc here again... A show of hands please: Who doesn't enoy a little home cooking?  Well, reports like this are like home cooking for The Good Doctor. While VL did not exisit when I left Buffalo for The Valley (near the small womens liberal arts college), it's still special to me.  The place has tremendous potential, from the two seperate theaters to the covered parking lot in back (handy for those Buffalo winters). The connected ABS is huge, and the staff is friendly.  The small theater turns into a couples only theater on Saturday nights, which helps draw in that crowd.  The trick is getting more couples to go there (from reports I get offline).

Great job by Chas on his first report, and we look forward to more.

Thanks,
Doc
