Thank You & A Look Ahead to 2014 @ The Journal

As far back as I remember, all I wanted to be was The Good Doctor...

Doc here, a man who some say serves a Jello mold every New Year's Day in the shape of the old Jefferson Theater in Portland, with a few thoughts from my office, nestled deep in The Valley near the small women's liberal arts college.

2013... What a year in this thing of ours and at The Journal. This year saw 521 separate reports from across the adult theater spectrum, and yielded 2.9 million pageviews. Yes, 2.9 MILLION.

The Good Doctor has you to thank, the good readers of The Journal. The quality of reports submitted this year was outstanding, with close to 50% being submitted by couples (up from 38% last year). The last reader's poll showed that 42% of all readers of The Journal are M/F couples or single females.

2013 saw The Good Doctor begin to work closely with two of the top adult theaters in the country: The Art Cinema in Hartford, CT, and 15th Ave Adult Theater & Spa in Chicago. Starting in January and continuing through the year, your old friend in the white suit and aviators co-hosted adult theater events in both these terrific venues. This will continue into 2014, starting with Valentine's events at both The Art Cinema and 15th Avenue (DETAILS HERE).

The Good Doctor also helped promote and co-host appearances at adult theaters by some very good friends of mine from the adult industry. The vivacious Velvet Skye (Canada's greatest natural resource) visited Chicago in August and made two trips to 15th Ave and made quite the impression.

Also in August, two of my favorite people in this thing of ours made their annual visit to adult theaters. The incredible Cathy and her hubby made another legendary visit to CTs Adult Theater in Gary, IN, and set the place on it's ear with an evening of hardcore fun.

The Good Doctor also stepped up the frequency of his own reports, with multi-part reports throughout the year.  Highlights were the Charlie's Angel's reports, the exploits of the Sexual Athletes, and the introduction of my new Medical Assistant as we co-hosted the Holiday Ball at 15th Ave in December.

2013 also saw The Journal's version of the Hindenburg disaster. In October, a hardware failure and a corrupt back-up file almost brought an end to The Journal of Adult Theaters. I re-built the site from scratch over the course of 3 days, and eventually restored the archive files dating from the beginning in 2009. I took the opportunity to give the site a face lift, making it brighter and giving it a cleaner look and feel.

2014 is here, and I have big plans for The Journal this year. One of my top priorities is publishing more original photo content. I have a top-secret shoot scheduled for next weekend featuring an incredible hot wife, and the best images from this shoot will be published right here at The Journal.

The Good Doctor will be hitting the road in February, hosting the 2nd Annual Be Mine Valentine's Event at The Art Cinema in Hartford. Save the date... Saturday February 8th at 7PM.

Last, but absolutely not least, I want to thank all of the contributors to The Journal, who are way too numerous to list individually. From my senior reporters to the first time contributors, you helped drive the growth of The Journal to what it is today. I cannot thank you enough.

So as we enter 2014, please keep the reports coming in.  As always, please e-mail me directly at emiliolizardo1@gmail.com . I will edit, format, and drop in pics if you do not submit any of your own. I can also Photoshop your pics to help keep them anonymous. Best of all, you get the byline and the credit.

Thank you again for making The Journal the #1 website covering this thing of ours.

Happy New Year.
