Happy New Year from The Good Doctor & The Journal of Adult Theaters

Happy New Year from The Good Doctor and the entire staff here at The Journal (OK, Barky Lizardo and myself). 

2014 was a great year at The Journal, for many different reasons. First and foremost, it was because of you, the good readers of The Journal. 

2014 saw The Journal earn 2.38 million pageviews. That is a lot of eyeballs on this thing of ours, as we continue to bring the adult theater scene from the shadows into slightly brighter light. Without your dedicated support, we would not be moving the needle the way we are experiencing right now. 

2014 also saw three different adult theaters embrace themed couples and singles events with assistance from The Good Doctor: The Art Cinema in Hartford, 15th Ave. Adult Theater in Chicago, and The Westwood Theater Private Members Only Club in Toledo. Record attendance numbers were seen in all three venues throughout the year. And 2015 looks to be even bigger and better...

The contributors out there who submit their reports on the latest goings on at dozens of locales really outdid themselves this year. Without these eyes and ears in the field, we would be in the dark on what fantastic things may await you inside your favorite adult theater or ABS. One event alone (the 2014 Valentine's Party at The Art Cinema in Hartford) had 9 reports just on that single event. Incredible.

It's Alive! The Art Cinema's New Website is Online!

Doc here, a man who some say can squeegee the water off of a duck while reciting TS Elliot's "The Wasteland", with an announcement two years in the making. 

Launching about 45 minutes ago, Project 2, AKA the new website for the mighty Art Cinema in Hartford, is now online.  The Good Doctor spent many hours whipping this bad boy into shape, and we even launched the site ahead of our 1/1/15 goal. 

This much needed makeover will be much more informative, and will also have a dedicated  mobile site to keep you in the know when on the move.

As we get closer to the big Valentine's Party at The Art Cinema in February, more eye candy and fun stuff will be going up on the site.   Until then, enjoy the pics, history, and events from The Art Cinema.

A Quick Note from The Good Doctor: Busy Beaver Edition

Doc here, a man who some say once hypnotized a goat solely by the power of his mustache, with a Quick Note from deep in The Valley, near the small women's liberal arts college. 

The Good Doctor has been a busy beaver the last few days, and this is in preparation for a couple of very cool projects and reports hitting on New Year's Day.

Project 1 is a new type of report for The Journal of Adult Theaters: The Good Doctor's Showcase. Showcase will feature photos taken by your old friend in the white suit and aviators, and will range from sexy photo shoots with some of the legendary ladies of this thing of ours, to architectural studies of classic adult theaters.  The first of these reports hits New Year's Day, and it will be a whopper.

Project 2 is a top secret project I am working on for the mighty Art Cinema in Hartford, CT. That too will launch (unless there is a hiccup today) on New Year's Day. 

I will announce both projects on the first, and 2015 will be off to a great start!

TOMORROW NIGHT! New Year's Eve Party at The Westwood Theater Private Members Only Club in Toledo

Freeze Frame! Two Brand New Pics of Bambi (from Bambi & Thumper)

Doc here, a man who some say once ran a water skiing school in Upstate NY, even though he was over 20 miles away from a body of water, with a Freeze Frame Report.

As we head into the last few days of 2014, which saw The Journal publish over 450 unique reports, finishing on a strong note is important to your old friend in the white suit. 

And who better to highlight on this Sunday evening than the sexy and sophisticated Bambi (the better half of Bambi & Thumper, senior Journal reporters). 

For those of you who remember the summer of 2014, The Good Doctor visited Portland, OR for a crazy 2 and half days (Part 1 HERE and Part 2 HERE) in July. One of the highlights of this trip was quality time spent with Bambi & Thumper, starting Friday night at The Paris Theatre, then Saturday afternoon (sightseeing), and eventually Saturday evening at The Oregon Theater.  It was during our up close and personal encounter that The Good Doctor had an opportunity to shoot his goo all over Bambi's tremendous ta-tas.

Breaking News! Cinema Blue in Birmingham, AL Officially Closed for Good.

Doc here... Well it seems that the closing of Cinema Blue in Birmingham, AL, originally scheduled to close at the first of the year, was accelerated and it is now a thing of the past.

I received a note from my good friends Mark & Christine late Saturday night with the news of Cinema Blue's closing. 

Here is their note to the Good Doctor:

Hi Doc,

I just learned that Cinema Blue was suddenly closed earlier than expected. I understand that the owner came in Friday night, told everyone to leave and locked the doors for good.

Last Sunday Christine and I were told by the owner that he planned to operate until Dec 31.

It is history now.
