Flash Report! Dry Clean Only Visits 15th Ave. Adult Theater in Chicago on 4/5/17

Doc here, a man who some say can deadlift 4x his bodyweight in capicola, back with a Flash Report from senior Journal scribe, Dry Clean Only

DCO hit the Windy City on Wednesday April 5, and ventured to 15th Ave. Adult Theater for a little mid-week R&R.  What did he find? What did he observe? How was his driving?

Let's find out...Take it away, Dry Clean Only...

Doc,

A quick report this week as I Uber to O'Hare. I had the good fortune to visit 15th Ave last week, albeit on both a rainy, cold Wednesday evening and also just a few days away from a major blowout in the Lizardo fashion this coming weekend. Still, I was utterly surprised that there was only one car in the lot upon my 730pm arrival. However, being the theater optimist I am, I ventured in ... and intended to double down by selecting the spa package. Hey, I'm only in Chicago so often. However, Gentle Reader, don't be this guy: I forgot my lock for the locker room and forgot the policy had changed from "towels supplied" to "towels extra"...

I strolled through the arcade, which always has "free" porn on in the booths (note: no glory holes) and then settled into the theater with an early copy of Doc's latest manifesto: "Good Doctoring: Tales for Passing Time In The Back Row". I look forward to attending he book signing tour someday.

Flash Report! The Executive Nomad Hits Pleasure World in Phoenix, AZ on 3/14/17

Doc here, a man who some say came up through the Padres system, playing 2nd base alongside short stop Al O'Pecea, with a fantastic first-time report on the Phoenix adult theater scene.

The Executive Nomad filed the following report, and frankly hits it out of the park on his first at-bat at Pleasure World in Phoenix, AZ.  This is a page-turner folks, so I encourage you to double-down on your Fresca (Hi Gemini!) and enjoy this report. And for regular readers of The Journal, this report may also have a familiar ring to it.

Please welcome to The Journal, the mysterious Executive Nomad!

Hello Dr.,

Divine providence ... fortune's favor ... dumb luck ... ... ... I don't know what to call it, but I owe the Good Doctor, and the others who have shared on this Journal and made it popular a beer should we ever meet. I have been a long time lurker but this is my first report.

Tuesday - March 14, 2017

I was spending 3 days in Phoenix for work, landed around 10:30 at SkyHarbor International Airport on a Southwest flight, and had suffered through the rental car shuttle and the Hertz board directed me to my spot where are nondescript silver Hyundai was waiting for me. It was 11:15 by this time and my first meeting wasn't until dinner. I had known this for a couple days, and I had combed through the Good Doctor's Journal thinking I could prowl a place or two from lunch till about 3 or 4 ... or as long as my patience held out .

Swinging the car out of the rental facility, it was a sunny day, about 65 with a breeze, the kind of day that is perfect for driving with the windows down. I first drove by Adult Shoppe #1 on 24th which looked deserted ... only 2 cars and (in this hobbyist's opinion) that's never a good sign so I drove on. Working my way down Washington I headed next to Pleasure World (
4029 East Washington, Phoenix AZ)
Pleasure World
Phoenix, AZ
It's parking is in the rear, and I circled the block once to get a feel for the place. The rear lot, which is accessed from a side street and appeared to be about 1/2 full with a couple cars parked along the street, and even more cars parked in the spots just behind Pleasure Worlds spots ... all of which at least appeared promising so I circled the block and then pulled in.

Dr. Lizardo's Journal of Cool Media: TONIGHT! 4/5/17! Keeping it "Brockmire" on IFC (or Below)

Doc here, a man who some say once appeared as Jay "Shirtless" Smallwood in ABC's "She's the Sheriff" in 1987, with Episode 2 of Dr. Lizardo's Journal of Cool Media.

Those of you (the good readers of The Journal) who have been following this blog for years/months/days/or minutes know there are two things I hold closest to my heart: 1) The National Pastime, and 2) The Sex.

What if I told you that there is a new series on IFC ( with it's first two episodes airing back to back Wednesday night at 10pm EST), "Brockmire" (starring the awesome Hank Azaria), that combines both? A show is that is extremely well-written, quirky, absolutely filthy, and is set against the backdrop of minor league baseball team The Morristown Frackers.

In my last "Dr. Lizardo's Journal of Cool Media" I saved you time and money by begging you to skip the Netflix/Marvel series "Iron Fist" and giving you a small clip of the best scene in the entire series. Now, I want you to invest some time and watch the first episode of "Brockmire" from IFC's Youtube channel.

The first 5 minutes of this show are as good an opening 5 minutes of any TV series I have ever watched (right up there with "Breaking Bad"). I'm hooked.  Watching Brockmire simultaneously do play-by-play of a Kansas City Royals game while describing coming home early from the park to surprise his wife Lucy is all sorts of awesome.  A melt down of Biblical proportions unfolds...

Please enjoy the first episode of "Brockmire" below, and stay through right to the end... There is a nice payoff!
Episode 2 airs right after episode 1 Wednesday night (10:30pm EST) on IFC, and I'll be there watching as should you.

4 out of 4 Cannoli Rating

Keeping it Brockmire,
Doc

Dr. Lizardo's Journal of Cool Media: Time Management with "Iron Fist"

Doc here, a man who some say will yell out "Time to die" right before biting into a delicious chicken drumstick, with a little change of pace for you, the good readers of The Journal.

Benjamin Franklin is credited with coining the phrase "Time is money". Time is a precious commodity, and should never be squandered. Thus, The Good Doctor would like to save you some time and money.

Those of you who know The Good Doctor personally, know he loves himself some comic book-related media.  And possibly my favorite of the recent spate of comic book-related media has been Marvel's run of series on Netflix. Starting with Daredevil Season One, followed up nicely by Jessica Jones, Daredevil Season Two (with The Punisher), and then Luke Cage, these street-level heroes gave us the depth that a 13 episode season can provide. And one I would never have thought I'd see in my lifetime.

Daredevil's two seasons have been my favorite so far on Netflix. Kevin Smith said on his "Fatman on Batman" broadcast on his Youtube Channel, that this incarnation of Daredevil "cracked the code" on how it should be done on this media platform. They were indeed 13-hour movies, and so damn good. Worth every penny you spend on Netflix every month.

Following Daredevil (Seasons 1 & 2) in the parade of street level heroes which will lead up to The Defenders team up of all 4 (or more) heroes, each held their own. Jessica Jones was pretty damn good. Luke Cage started great, but in my opinion hobbled across the finish line by time it's last episode aired, but was still highly entertaining.

The 4th and final street-level hero to have their show premier was "Iron Fist", which started streaming 3 weeks ago.  I was really looking forward to see how Marvel and Netflix were able to crack this code on this hero that was a martial arts expert gifted with the iron fist.

Christ almighty, this show is lazy.

And this is where I will save you time, thus saving you money.

What you just saw was an eight second clip from Season 1 Episode 10 'Black Tiger Steals Heart' that is the only thing I liked out of 13 episodes (this is from episode 10). In footage from 1948 depicting a former iron fist protecting a passage happened upon by Chinese soldiers, you have just now seen the best part of this entire seriesMove along...The show is over.

By my calculations, I have saved you and your loved ones the equivalent of about 13 hours of quality time you could be spending doing something more constructive.

I now take you back to your normally scheduled broadcast.

Thanks,
Doc

Vote! "Would You Buy Journal of Adult Theaters Swag?"

Doc here, a man who some say knows close to 17 bird calls, with a call to action for you, the good readers of The Journal!

The Good Doctor has been getting more requests than normal for Journal of Adult Theater swag (again). By swag, I mean coffee mugs, adult theater naughty bags, t-shirts, etc. I need to determine if this is a thing, or just one of the random requests I get every day in my In-Box.

On the right hand side, I have set up a poll than runs until Sunday April 9th at 11:59pm CT. Do your Lizardo Journal duty, and let your voice be heard.

Thanks,
Doc

Flash Report! Dry Clean Only Hits the Berlin News Agency in NJ, and Gets to Periscope Depth on 3/22/17

Doc here, a man who some say put the "Mac" in the "Macarena", with an outstanding Flash Report from senior reporter Dry Clean Only (aka DCO).

DCO made a lengthy stop in one of my favorite adult theaters in the country, the Berlin News Agency, in Berlin, NJ. BNA is an awesome stop in this thing of ours, and luckily for all of us, DCO's stop was a good one.

Take it away, Dry Clean Only...

***

Hi Doc,

With winter and spring business travel upon me, I started planning in advance to take advantage of the driving routes and destinations. I tested the waters with the Twitterverse to see if there were any new haunts out there in Central PA, Baltimore, and Greater Philly for us couples-fans, but it looks like The Journal's Database is fairly complete, and no new spots were suggested. I did make a stop at Adult Video & Gift Outlet (3184 Susquehanna Trail, Duncannon, PA 17020), only to find once inside that the theaters were marked closed, though it was a friendly, clean, well-stocked store. We need another visit, and I regret not having asked the clerks about theater status.

So that brings me to one of my favorite places to visit while on the road: Berlin News Agency. It's never convenient for me to make it there, but the extra hour each way has typically proven worth-it for me, and I only ever go there mid-week. There are a lot of descriptions of BNA on The Journal in my two previous submissions to The Journal, and from others, but if I had to sum it up after visiting other places, I'd say it like this: down to fuck. There's no couples section. There's no grand architecture. There's just a clean, sexy, well-appointed facility for couples-fun.
The Berlin News Agency
Berlin, NJ
So I got there at about 5:30pm on a Wednesday. I thought there may be some on-the-way-home-from-the-office play going on, and when I pulled in and saw a bunch of cars in the lot, I thought I had hit paydirt. I walked in and struck up fast conversation with Paul, whom I believe is the General Manager. I hadn't seen Paul in a year or more, but he remembered me readily and we quickly got into great conversation. That's the thing in this thing of ours, the people are great. (ed. note: Paul is awesome!)

Turns out the cars in the lot belonged to the other guys, who, like me, figured there was a chance for an early evening display of affection by a commuting couple. Paul had told me that every day, they have couples, with Friday-Sunday bringing in as many as ten couples in a day without even a themed event going on. However, as Paul told me, today it probably wasn't to be until after dark, because of the unusually sunny and warm March day in NJ.

So, the horny hopefuls and I roamed the dark hallways and nooks of the theater section to pass time. I eventually got bored, and, ever-the-optimist, I decided to go check out the arcade side of the building, as perhaps a lovely woman on her way home from work had dropped in for a little booth play. Again, nothing exciting going on over there. I had forgotten that entrance to the Arcade at BNA did not allow for free viewing like The Westwood had, but I was prepared with some small bills and fed the machines for a bit, while I tweeted some of my favorite friends on Twitter about my progress thus far.
