Doc here, a man who some say prefers to turn 2 instead of turning 1, with a value-packed Flash Report from 2 rarely-reported adult theaters from senior Journal scribe, Anaconda.
In the spirit of full disclosure, I have been to the Paris Twin in Syracuse many time when I was a resident NYer, but haven't been back in many years. As for for Swing Shift, nope.
What say you, Anaconda?

I'm back with a double report from a couple more new 1st time stops for me:
Paris Twin Theater Syracuse, NY |
1) Paris Twin Cinema in Syracuse, NY - I was passing through CNY on my way home from a social function and decided to stop in and check it out. It was late afternoon on a Sunday and I knew that probably not much would be going on, but I wanted to investigate and pass on the info to my fellow Journal readers.
I apologize if some of the details escape me since I have not been as prompt as usual in drafting my report as I usually am. This particular theater is a converted standard movie theater from the days before the mega-multiplex where there were only between 1-3 screens at a location. So you walk in and straight to the old ticket booth where the guy tells me its $12 admission PER SIDE! No back and forth! Yikes!
I inquired about gay side/straight side arrangement and he said that wasn't the case. They play 2 features, 1 in each theater, and at least on this particular day, both were straight films. He did say that at that moment theater 2 was empty and theater 1 had a few guys in there.
I am not looking to get anything going with the guys, not my thing, but at that moment I felt like it would have been silly to sit in a theater by myself too, so I took the path to theater 1 on the left side. About 1/2 a dozen guys in there, all spread out minding their own business. I chose a seat and watched the film for a while. I stayed for about an hour and headed out. Interesting place, but the no back and forth is a real bummer along with what I would consider a much too steep price for what this place is like.
Swing Shift Video Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada |
2) Swing Shift Video in GTA, Ontario, Canada - This place is tiny and tucked in the back of a modest building right next to a Presbeterian Church. Upon entering, you are in a large open space/wide hallway with the clerk on the other side of the store. I exchanged a kind hello with her and asked for the skinny since it was my first visit. She was very nice and very helpful.
She explained that there were 2 theaters and several private rooms. The private rooms could be rented by the hour or in several hour chunks and you could basically pick any video from the "store" to watch in there. I paid my $15 Canadian for access to the theater which is good all day with unlimited in and out privileges. So there are not really 2 separate theaters, but 1 room with 2 TVs that are kinda separated by a wall. Straight porn playing on the TV immediately as you walk in, gay/bi/TS/etc showing on the other a bit further back on the other side of the wall.
In both sections the seating is pretty sad. Basically a bunch of mismatched dining room and/or outdoor patio chairs. Really only room for about 4-5 people per area. The A/V equipment is quite old as well. Old tube TVs, small screens, think they might have been playing VHS rather than DVD. I stayed about 30 minutes, then headed out.
I do not get to Syracuse ever really, so no need to make a special trip for Paris. I am in Toronto regularly, but feel no pull to get back to Swing Shift, unfortunately.
