Flash Report! Double Florida Flash Report from Raygun in January 2020

Doc here, a man who some say was a 3rd base coach for the Pacific Coast League Clackamas Claps back in the late 1980's. The coaching stint was a short and uneventful one.

On a brighter note, senior Journal reporter Raygun is back with a double Florida report from a recent trip down to the Sunshine State. What did RG find?

Let's find out...

Hey Doc,

I found myself in Florida, a state I only visit under duress, so I made time to visit a couple new theaters, or at least new to me. First up was the Pasco Pussycat in New Port Richey. It's an understated place on a quiet road and easy to miss if you're not paying attention.

My first attempt was a bust. I had barely stepped inside the door when they said, "If you're here for the theater, it's closed." It had been an exceptionally windy day with a storm predicted later in the night and their power had been flickering on and off. They were sure it would go out at some point — "It always does" — so they decided to close early.

A couple days later I gave it another try. I thought Saturday night might be a good time to find some action, but no such luck. The woman at the counter commented about it being late when I walked in at 9pm, so maybe it's a Florida early bird special kind of place. Either way, I thought I would check it out.

It's only $5 for a single entry or $10 for all day. There's the usual adult store in front and a single theater in back. The theater has twenty fixed seats spaced apart in a way would seem to discourage making new friends, but the rolls of paper towels on a table near the exit told a different story. I also saw a billboard for the place on Rt. 19 that advertised "couples friendly," so who knows?
