Hot Dee and her hubby are on the road, and in their travels hit plenty of adult theaters and ABS's. And in this Field Report, Hot Dee reviews Rt. 35 Adult Store in Pliny, WV. I have needed a review of this place for some time now, and now we have one, courtesy of the sexy Hot Dee.

I/We a married swinger couple, frequent Rt. 35 Adult Store in Pliny, WV at every chance time and circumstance permits, and is a fantastic and well managed venue.
The owner is named Gene and was the previous owner/founder of the Airport Video ABS located in Beckley W.Va. Rt. 35 has similar features as that former location, to include an average to good store front with the usual (Toy’s, Video’s, Novelty’s and “Tobacco Gear”), a large building that has 3 theaters (a large main straight theater room with 3 adjoining private video rooms for more private socializing and smoking is permitted within this area, a smaller “Gay Feature” theater room adjoins the main theater (also smoker friendly), and a large restroom is found in this area as well as another one in the retail area.

The main theatre also has a separate large screen T.V. that plays either sports events, CNN, or weather channel playing. Damned if I know the why, assume for the significant number of truckers who take their lay-over break their since the lot can hold maybe 50 semi-trucks plus plenty of four wheelers.
The third theater room is right off the store front, and is a non-smoking area and has 3 large open booths with holes and there are two separate big screens, one is playing the straight feature and the other the gay movie. Where you sit determines which one you are viewing and by constant head turning you can watch them both. Seating is the common big padded couches, love seats, & recliner chairs in all 3 theaters.
They have about 3 or 4 pop vending machines and a snack/candy machine and that’s it as far as the munch on availability. There is the typical video booth token operated section off to the East side of the book store section. Not sure as to the number of booths as it's kind of a maze. Maybe a dozen or so, some are buddy (view glass), adjoining GH's, with 3 or 4 being private with doors on all and a $5.00 minimum token purchase being required to enter the booth section.

A $10.00 admission ticket for an individual and $15.00 covers M/F couples, and is valid for like 16 hours or more and covers unlimited roaming from theatre to theatre and only invalidates/expires if the patron exits the parking lot (since truckers will go crash out for a couple of hours then sweep the location to see if any women showed up during their absence).
There is an “Out Door Swingers Patio” off of the video booth section with a couple of picnic tables and some benches for outdoor socializing, as expected enclosed by a tall privacy fence. This place is extremely “Couple Friendly/Popular”. We have seen 15 other couples there at a given time, sometimes a few more and sometimes less.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons are the prime time for our fellow swingers to make their rounds, but have also encountered couples their on weekdays or weeknights but that can be hit or miss. Assumption being a percentage prefer a smaller crowd than the prime times offer. Plus when the couple is open to socializing with singles not just other couples, if it's a slow night the only gal attending can be awful popular and spend an extensive amount of time getting aquainted with that many new friends in an evening.

Those considering a visit should not rule out checking on the weeknights. We were out and about for business reasons in the area, so of course stopped in and stayed for a marathon film festival for about 48 hours, leaving mid-day to make the appointment then returned for the new features. It is not uncommon for a couple or two to show up any where from midnight till 4am. I have seen it happen quite often, and most in that group were happy to meet and socialize with every patron in the place still awake. Most visits one has plenty to see and do while there. They also have a few video games in the booth section to kill time and quarters with, never bothered with them, found more productive uses for our time.
They are open 24/7, located in the tiny village of Pliny West Virginia, on the South Side of 2 lane stretch, (Old Original) U.S. Route 35 between Charleston W.Va. and the Ohio State Line, about 16 miles from Ohio line. I am guessing Pliny may have 20 residents so this “ADULT PARADISE” is out in the middle of nowhere on RT.35 and that may be one of the main drawing cards for many fellow swingers whom have no fear of having their car spotted in an ABS parking lot.

We have visited a significant number of ABS theaters in several different states over several years, never passing one where you could park a truck and this one beats any and all. So I rate the Route 35 Adult Store in Pliny, WV.” at 5 of 5 Penis’ if I were editor at Hustler Magazine.
Dr. for your information to my knowledge there is one remaining A.B.S in St.Albans/Charleston, W.Va. Last visit under new management and being re-modeled and from what we saw they were trying to copy/incorporate some of the features of the Rt.35 but going cheap.
In Parkersburg, four active stores with booths two having small theaters. So if you like when we make our annual "ABS Tour" in our area, we can provide the info for your list, although none of these come close to the one at Pliny. But any venue still in operation should be listed, since the numbers are dwindling and ABS fans may one day be as few as buffalo hunters in the roaring 20’s .
I saw an old newspaper from the late 60’s or early 70,s and it had adds for about 20 adult theaters, a whole damned page of nothing but porn flick adds, one theater remains in Youngstown, Ohio (ed. note: The Foster Art Theater).
