Public Service Announcement From Dr. Emilio Lizardo: Adult Theater Etiquette

Doc here with a much needed refresher course on adult theater etiquette.  Those of you out there who have either met me in person or have conversed with me know I like to focus on only the positives in this thing of ours'. Why?  It's good for business.

The past few weeks I have witnessed some of the worse adult theater behavior by patrons I have ever seen. Let's start in Portland on Halloween weekend... 

The Paris Theater's unique layout with it's couple's oasis on an elevated platform at the rear of the theater makes for (if the mix of patrons is particularly rude) an uncomfortable zoo-like attraction for the gawkers and an uncomfortable setting for couples.  A rowdy group of younger Hispanic guys made both Friday night 10/29 and Saturday night 10/30 untenable. 

How bad was it?  The Good Doctor was this close to getting into an altercation with one of these guys on Saturday night who attempted to bully this former hockey player (something I do not kindly to).  I stood up to this gavone, and he eventually backed away.  Who need this at an adult theater?  No one.

Fast forward to The Lido Theater in Dallas, where aggressive behavior by group of guys ruined two couples who wanted to play with the general population.  All the guys had to do was listen to the male half of the couple who dictated the ground rules, and everyone would have had fun.  That night there were two blown opportunities that could have been instead great experiences.

The following is a list forwarded to me by my esteemed colleague, Old Marine Corps Guy on adult theater etiquette.  Do yourself a favor...Read it. Forward it. Live it. 

You never know... A little patience might get you some fun at an adult theater near you.

Guys, you HAVE to respect women when they come into a theater. It's not like it was back in the 70's and 80's when almost every couple (and a lot of single women too) that came into a theater was there to
play. Now it is almost a rarity for couples to come in so you have to give
them some room, and play it very carefully.

1. When a couple comes into a theater, stay in your seat. Let them
find a place to sit and get comfortable. See what they do and how
they act. That will give you an indication of what they are, or are
not, looking for.

2. If you feel that they want to play then let ONE (1) guy make a
respectful move close (DON'T SIT RIGHT NEXT TO THE WOMAN, OR DIRECTLY
BEHIND HER). Look for what reaction you get. That will give an idea
of whether it's ok or not. KEEP YOUR DICK IN YOUR PANTS!!!
Remember, undercover LE is out there looking too.
Give it a few rubs to let them know that you are "friendly" :) and
see what develops. Don't be pushy. This will turn off even couples
who have come to play.

3. Keep in mind that the couple chooses who they want. If you have
made a move and they give you no sign that they are interested, then
get up and let someone else give a try. Different couples want
different things. You might, or might not be what they want. Don't
sit there and ruin someone elses chance for a play just because you
struck out. Everyone likes something different, white, black, brown,
tall, short, skinny, heavy, hairy, clean-shaven, young, old. Dosn't
matter. The couple gets to make the choice.

4. Let the couple be the guide. They are there for their (and maybe
your) enjoyment, so let them take the lead.

5. If action starts with one guy and the couple, then let him have
the play. Don't everyone in the theater come crowding around and
bust up the play. If the couple wants more than one, or more than
one at a time, they will let the other players know.

Remember, show some respect and restraint. Let's all have some fun, but show some style too, guys.

House Call: Last Week's Grand Slam Visits, Part 1: The Lido Theater, Dallas TX

Doc here with the first of a two-part House Call Report regarding last week's visits to The Lido Theater in Dallas, Texas and the 4 main adult theaters in Tampa, FL. I have been planning this trip for awhile now, and was able to orchestrate mixing business with pleasure in arranging the timing of hitting two major adult theater cities (and 5 theaters) in 4 days.   The first part of the trip was focused on The Lido Theater in Dallas.

The Lido Adult Theater is located very conveniently by Love Field Airport, and right off of the 35 expressway.  Parking is plentiful, with both front, side, and rear parking lots that are well lit yet discreet.  Admission is $11, however while you can enter and leave the theaters as much as you want, you cannot leave the building proper.  If you do, it's another $11.  This keeps guys from hanging around in front of the building or sitting in their cars in front of the theater.  I like this policy (paid for by "Citizens for Lizardo").

I purposely set this trip up for a Wednesday and Thursday survey of The Lido. Why, you may ask.  Research by our team of adult theaters researchers (OK, me) showed that the best night for single guys at The Lido was Thursday night.  Why Thursday?  Thursday is the first of the 3 "Couples Nights" at The Lido, but the only one where couples and single guys can co-mingle on the 2nd floor.  Why is this important?

The Lido is a two floor facility.  The bottom floor is the smaller theater (which shows gay films until Couples Nights, when it has str8 fare).  The other section of the bottom floor is a very large adult book and video store, as well as the cashier station.

The top floor is what makes The Lido unique.  You must walk up a flight of stairs to get buzzed into the top floor.  On this floor, are two lobbies (one in front, one in the rear) which have couches and flat screen TVs showing regular TV (not porn).  Starting in the front lobby, are the first of 16 separate private rooms of different sizes and configurations.  With their lockable doors, these rooms provide private play space for couples, singles, couples & singles, and couples & couples.

The main theater is at the very rear of the building, and is big.  It is 65-70 feet across, and 50-60 feet deep.  Total seats are about 70.  There is a lot of open floor space in front and in the rear of the auditorium for standing and groping (more on that later).

Wednesday, November 10th.  I got into Dallas, got my rental car (a DMC-12 with great acceleration) and grabbed a bite to eat before hitting The Lido.  Expectations were not high...It was a Wednesday, and Wednesday have yielded next to nothing in past visits.

After paying the young man at the counter, I was buzzed in upstairs.  I was immediately greeting by the sound of someone being fucked hard...(Was it a video, or was there intelligent life behind the moans and ass slapping?).  The noise was coming from behind door # 9, and it was real.  The door was locked (of course)...God forbid The Good Doctor would have any luck right out of the gate.

I picked a spot near one of the other rooms to scope out what may enter or exit the room.  Within two minutes, the door unlocked and an attractive young black couples exited, looking a bit worse for wear. 

I then ventured to the main theater...

The typical mid-week sausage fest was encamped in there.  That was until the door opened, and two sets of feet were heard walking in.  The youngish woman looked like Charlene Tilton (imagine that, in Dallas).  Blonde long hair, big round breasts, and a very fair complexion.  Her guy was a large Hispanic dude...Picture Robert Downey Jr's heavy Hispanic cousin.

They started by standing in the back, and eventually found a couple of seats to their liking on the right side of the theater.  After a few minutes, they got up, and moved to the back again.  This repeated itself two more times over the next 15 minutes.  The last trip to the standing area was different.

  I looked back at them just as they motioned to a guy to come closer... I wish I had more of a ribald tale to tell you about Thursday night, but I do not.  Two more couples ventured upstairs at the Lido, and lasted less than 10 minutes each.  The only person who got a lot of action was a CD in the theater. That was the type of night it was.

HnR here. Since I have not yet gone to CT's yet in November, I would like to give you and the readers 2-3 reports a month when possible I thought I would give you a report from my Oct 14th visit.

 I have a few general rules when I consider going to an ABS at any given time. First, I like to see new ladys the first time that they are going to be at an ABS in my area. That keeps it fresh an exciting with never really knowing exactly what to expect from a looks and action standpoint. A Few Minutes With Dr. Emilio

Hi kids...Doc here.  It struck me that it had been since Thursday since I had updated The Journal.  You see, The Good Doctor was on the road again for you, the good readers of The Journal.  House Calls to be made, business to be conducted. 

Plus, I have been cranky the last two days.  Bad mojo for writing the blog.

I will have a two-part House Call report about the trips to Dallas and The Lido Theater, and to Tampa and the 4 main theaters there. It will be a little of this, and a little of that. Part 1 (Dallas) will go up sometime late tonight or early tomorrow.  Part 2 (Tampa) will hit mid-week.

I took the time to take new updated photos of the Tampa theaters, which were long overdue.  I still need to edit them and drop them into the House Call, but it will be worth it.

Field Report: Amber Aldrich on Video Liquidators in Buffalo, NY

Doc here with a Field Report from one of the most popular reporters on this blog...Amber Aldrich.  Her last article on "Pink Girls" is still the most read report in The Journal's history.

On a Saturday night, October 9, I attended Video Liquidators in Buffalo, NY.
Video Liquidators is a sex boutique/bookstore with two attached theaters. The
smaller theater is open to all, the larger one was designated as couples only.
As I have been asked a few times about this venue, here is my official review.

I had been to this place twice before and didn't enjoy it. But this time I did.
When we first arrived we went right to the couple theater, and were hit on by
another couple as soon as we walked in. We grabbed seats near the back and began
to play with the other couple. As my eyes got adjusted to the dark I saw the
couple we were playing with were about 30 years old, and there were about 10
couples in the theater, most of whom were engaged with other couples. Despite
it's couples-only designation, there were numerous single men in there,
presumably sneaking in from the smaller theater.

My husband, Phil, was escalating quickly with the other woman, however her
husband remained flaccid even after prolonged oral stimulation. Numerous

the opposite happens. He's already self-conscious about his meager erection, and
by overreacting (even in a positive way) only draws more attention to it. So the
best thing to do is just stay perfectly still and quiet, and wait to feel it
harden up inside you. Then you can relax the PC muscle and let it clamp down. As
the guy's getting close to cumming little tiny quiet moans are very reinforcing
to guys like this, but loud, ruckus "oh fuck me daddy, fuck me hard" is
counterproductive and will actually set back his approach to orgasm. Guys don't

The four of us said yes, and we started playing as three couples. Again, the

went back to the single's theater. There is an open area in the back of that

We will be going back to VL at the end of December, and hope to have that nice

Field Report: The Paris & The Oregon Theaters in Portland by "The Editor"

Just read part of your trip report on PDX and your poor luck. A year ago, I was in PDX for a week and worked both Paris and Oregon very hard.  They are entirely different experiences and clients.

On week nights, with small crowds, the O was good.  Each night a different couple came and played. One night a mixed age couple came in.  He was 50, she 35 BBW.  She had on a long dress and was carrying a shopping bag.  They walked in and went to a couch on the side.  She didn't even sit down, just pulled the dress over her head and was naked.  Then she spread a blanket on the couch and sat down.  The guys (10) moved right in and she took care of business.  It was well behaved.

On a Saturday @ 2pm I went to the O.  An older couple was there.  She naked and taking on 1 at a time to F/Suck.  Again well behaved and nicely paced.  They spent 3+ hrs.  When they left we said be sure to come again and they told how it would always be a Sat afternoon when their respective spouses were at work!

Also later on Saturday I caught a regular at the Paris.  A VERY nice woman who went to the exam table.  A 30yr old guy in scrubs pounded her good and she loved it.  Then he tickled her G spot and she screamed.  It was terrific.

Saturday night was a xdress party at the O.  I went just to see if couples attended.  There were a few, mixed results.  There had to be 200 guys in the O and wow was it hard core.  No interest to me other than just to see some nasty hard poundings of a few subs.

It turns out that weekend, the big night at the Paris was Sunday nite.  Mostly an older crowd but very hard core.

I think the biggest problem with the O is lack of posts.  I do believe it may be the better of the 2 theaters, but doesn't get the press coverage.
