Scott here, wanted to share a report with you about an evening out that Jean & I had this past Saturday, May 31st. Since our move to Florida about six months ago, we've made the trip to Tampa a handful of times for some good, dirty, adult fun. So far we've found Fantasyland to be the best of options, but I enjoy exploring new places and seeing all that a city has to offer (both in our adult lives and non) so we've been hitting some of the smaller, lesser-known theaters for Journal reports as well. I promised to always give the Good Doctor the bad with the good and I would have to put Modern World in Phoenix on the bad list for couples. This was my second visit. I was super horny and ready to suck a bunch of cock on my knees in a sleazy gloryhole booth.  That didn't happen. The trolls were out of control even worse than last time.

On a positive note, the staff are always super nice, I mean really nice but they have a laissez faire attitude as to what goes on in the booth area.  So with no supervision in the back, the trolls have no incentive to behave like men.  There were some nice guys there but as usual, the nice guys have their fun ruined by the trolls.

The above is what makes Berlin News in NJ and Fantasyland in Tampa so special.  The owners and the clerks really watch out for the women that frequent their establishments. The trolls don't want to make it on the banned list so they behave themselves.  The clerks at Modern World are so nice, it is unfortunate that they are not more involved in the back.  It really is a pleasantly perverted place.  The holes look so raunchy in a good way.  Plus they are bigger than normal.  I have been told that the GHs are too high for normal height men.  You would have to stand on your toes to get your cock through the hole.

Hi Doc, your friends M&S here with a story and pics from a great Friday night at the greatest place to play: The couples-only balcony at the Art Cinema in Hartford. Well here goes...

We arrived at the Art Cinema at 7pm. We went in and paid our admission and asked Ernie if anyone was in the balcony yet . He said no, but 2 couples had been in earlier in the day, so we hung around and chatted with him.

Brent from Portland and I have had many conversations about why the Vegas adult theaters are nothing special these days.  It isn't the quality of the theaters, as they range from good to excellent by our standards in this thing of ours.

So what gives?  My guess is the competition from the on-premises sex clubs like The Green Door, The Power Exchange, and The Red Rooster.  However, this is Vegas...And there is more than enough sinners to go around (one might think).

Here is my report from my business trip out to Las Vegas last month:

I recently attended a businss conference out in Las Vegas that ran Monday - Wednesday but they had some pre-conference activities (golf, shows, etc.) that gave me a good excuse to fly out there Saturday morning. I was staying at Paris Hotel which is a great location for a couple of reasons.  First, it is is the middle of the strip so the other major hotel are a close walk by. Second, the self-parking garage that serves Paris and Bally's has great views overlooking one of the towers at Bally's. While I didn't have a chance to spend much time looking, a dedicated voyeur could probably get a lot of hotel room views from the upper levels of the parking garage.

But back to the story, I had visited the Deja Vu Theatre on 3275 Industrial Road (west end of the strip by Trump Hotel) on a previous visit and while didn't have any luck from this thing we all enjoy, I was impressed by the layout and cleanliness of the theatres - especially compared to some of the other LV theatres - and wanted to give it a try on future visits.

The good Doctor is starting the weekend shot out of a cannon, with an outstanding adult theater/ABS profile of CVE in Gastonia, NC (just outside of Charlotte).  This report, submitted by Alex and Lauren, takes the couple's perspective, and is refreshing in it's approach and detail.

Good morning, Doctor,

Gastonia is a small town, just west of Charlotte, NC. Frankly, it is a spot hardly worth noting except for the fact that it has the only adult bookstore and theater action anywhere in the region. The undisputed king of adult entertainment spots in Gastonia is the Carolina Video Exchange, known better as CVE.

CVE is made up of 4 separate areas: the sales floor, the video booth area, the theater and the couples room.The sales area carries all of the usual products: sex toys, lingerie, shoes, DVDs, lotions and potions. But it is the layout, cleanliness and staff that keep couples coming into this place constantly. Many of them do not play, of course, but we have seen some who come in just to buy a movie or vibrator and wind up getting curious about the rest of the place and wandering back to the other areas. It's always fun to see a new couple taking their first steps into the lifestyle!

The video arcade is different than most. No tokens or dollar bill machines. Your entry fee gives you unlimited access to about 20 booths, each with its own movie running constantly. About half of the booths have glory holes. Again, we note that this place is clean. I don't know how they do it, but somehow they keep the cum spills, paper towels, condom wrappers, etc. off the floor and out of site. We have talked to dozens of couples who ONLY go to CVE because it is kept up and kept clean. Kudos to the management.

The theater is small - maybe 50 seats - with hardcore videos playing constantly. There is no separate couples section, but the boys will pretty well behave as long as they know what your rules are. Our only complaint with the place is the seating in the theater. Traditional "theater-style" seats make it a little difficult to get very "comfortable" but somehow the couples and ladies that want to play seem to find a way to do it. Pretty much anything goes in the theater. We have about seen it (and done it) all in there.

Finally, there is the couples' room. 6 "leather" love seats are postioned around the edges of the room with a large screen TV in the corner. We have seen as many as 13 couples in this room at once! By the way, this is couples only. Single guys can't even be invited in. Sorry.

Admission to CVE is $15. Women are free. That gives you access to the theater, video booths and couples room (if you are a couple). There is free admission to the theater and video booths for couples on Wednesdays and Sundays. Admission to the couples room is $5 on those days.

Welcome to The Journal's 9th Anniversary! What's to Come Today?

Doc here, a man who some say would never live past his 30th birthday due to his mustache sucking up all the available oxygen around his head. He has since proven science wrong. 

It's been 9 years, folks. In what started as a Sunday afternoon project on August 22, 2009, The Journal of Adult Theaters has since had 14,900,136 pageviews over the last 9 years (as of this writing). In other words, a ton of eyeballs have grazed across these fruited plains. 

Many great sex blogs have come and gone over the last 9 years, but this one has continued. Why?

You.

You, the good readers and contributors of The Journal, have provided great reports, theater reviews, store info for the Adult Theater Database, and some of the hottest original pics of people from this thing of ours. Often naked. 

The Good Doctor remembers when The Journal received 100 pageviews in one day. It was about 3 weeks into the site, and it was prompted by Google crawling the blog and indexing it's pages & images for the first time, so search was made easier. We were then off to the races!

3,095 Reports later, and The Journal is still cruising along. It's had a face-lift or 4, but it still looks pretty damn good. And I have some great content in the hopper...scratch that. Fantastic content in the hopper. My challenge is to carve out enough time to get them to see the light of day soon and continue this rich tradition.
