Flash Report! The Adventurous Maryland Couple Looks Back to 2017 for Two Productive Visits in Sante Fe & Homestead, FL (w/PICS!)
Doc here, and man who some say knows the clock is ticking. We're running out of time. Evil is rising. Second by second we all cry out, begging for someone to do something before the clock stops. Who will save us? "American Hero Story: Lizardo".
During a weeklong business trip to Santa Fe, we decided to spend some time at Arcade News. We arrived around 9:00 pm and spent some time browsing the adult products in the front of the store. They had quite a nice selection of products, clothing, and videos and the store was bright, warm and friendly. The clerk immediately said hello when we entered and let us know she was available if we needed any help.
Speaking of time, let's all jump in the Lizardo Way Back Machine, and set the controls for 2017. There we will find one of the legendary couples in this thing of ours: The Adventurous Maryland Couple. The AMC were on the prowl in two different locations, but each with it's own sexy story to tell.
In this report, Mrs. Adventurous Maryland Couple takes us to Arcade News in Sante Fe, NM, and Dixie Adult Store and Theater in Homestead, FL. And ladies and gentlemen, it's a doozy!
Fasten your seat belts, pop open that Fresca (Hi Gemini!), and enjoy this terrific report!

Hey Doc, it’s that Adventurous MD Couple once again, with The Mrs. taking the wheel of this report.
As regular readers of your blog know, we spend a lot of time each year on the road for business. Late 2017 saw us visiting Santa Fe, New Mexico and Key West, Florida. So, we of course took advantage of the opportunities, used Doc’s adult theater database (what a great resource by the way – thanks Doc!), and found two places to stop while we were in those areas.
Our visits were somewhat short and relatively uneventful compared to our usual fun, so I’ll keep this report short and relay our thoughts on the establishments. It goes without saying that Mr. AdvMDCpl loved playing with me in public, watching me show off my body and masturbate for the crowd, and pleasure the guys I met only moments before. And of course, watching them shoot their loads all over my naked body. Yep, that about covers it from his perspective!

Flash Report! Dry Clean Only Recaps the Tampa FL Scene: Tres Equis & Fantasyland I and II in December 2019!
Doc here, a man who some say knows the value of Nick Tahou's Hots, with the return of senior LJ scribe and excellent dresser, Dry Clean Only!
DCO swung by the Sunshine State of Florida in late 2019, and has filed an impressive report on two of Tampa's best: Tres Equis (Hi Monique!), and Fantasyland I and II.
This is some tasty reading, so I suggest you settle in with a nice chicken parm sandwich and a Fresca (Hi Gemini!) and hunker down with that International Man of Mystery himself, Dry Clean Only!
Let's go!

Salutations good Doctor,
Now that the holidays are behind us, I took some time to finish up an overdue field report on my recent Tampa Tour.
The trip started with the usual trappings of my travels; business meetings, team building, customer dinners…plus all the work that needs to be done when I’m back at the con. But I managed to get a few hours to myself on a couple nights, and I decided to check out the Tampa scene.
On my first night out I was able to introduce myself to none other than Monique (aka @TPAUnicorn) and her partner in crime. When I pulled into her outpost (she manages Tres Equis), I was shocked at the number of cars in the lot. Turns out, the cars were there for the main attraction at the front of the building, the Tampa Gold Club - a strip club, steakhouse, nightclub kind of place.
When I got to Tres Equis, Monique hadn’t arrived yet, so I checked the place out. It has a well-maintained retail section up front stocked with clothes, movies, toys, and the like. The theater has sofas and armchairs around the perimeter of a 25’x25’ room with a projector screen. There are two rooms off the main theater room where one CD entertained a few people and there seemed to be a large glory hole between the two rooms.
Back out into the retail section is the entrance to the arcade. It was fairly quiet in there and I honestly forget whether or not there were glory holes. But hey, it’s Florida, so safe to assume there were. Also accessible from the retail section are two hallways leading to several small rooms, each with TV’ and furniture for a half-dozen people or so (some of which are lockable). While there was a steady stream of traffic, the couples only seemed interested in retail shopping.
The undeniable highlight of the evening was making fast friends with Monique and her partner. Really great people! Any friend of the Journal who makes it to Tampa should make a point of reaching out to her. She’s a gem and thoroughly knows the Tampa adult scene (like the unicorn that she is). She shared with me that the day before my visit (of course), several couples were in for their playtime. It’s always hit and miss in this thing of ours.
The next night I decided to head over to FantasyLand I & II. I’ve been to both several times over the past few years and have reported on some hot times. But the last few trips haven’t been terribly newsworthy. As is normally the case…patience, an open mind, and low expectations are the mantra, and tonight they paid off.

Flash Report! JaxBchBum Updates the Pasco Pussycat and Reviews 8th Ave. Video in Hudson, FL!
Doc here, a man who some say penetrated the jungles of Nicaragua in search of insurgents, with a rag-tag team of mercenaries: Dutch, Dillon, Blaine, Mac, Hawkins, Billy, and Pancho. Soon the hunt will begin.
In his 11th year of reporting here at The LJ, JaxBchBum always brings the important details to you, the good readers of this blog. Things that will make your adult venue visit worthwhile, or will steer you in a slightly different direction.
In this report, JaxBchBum updates us on the Pasco Pussycat, and takes us into 8th Ave. Video, both in the Tampa area.
Take it away, sir!

Hey Doc,
JaxBchBum here. Hope all is well with you. My travels have been a little slow lately, but I just got back from an eventful trip to Houston TX (report to follow soon).
For now though, I wanted to add some additional context to Raygun's recent report on the Pasco Pussycat. I visited the place late last year when I was in the Tampa area.
Unfortunately, New Port Richey has some requirements for their adult theaters that make them less “couple friendly”. Seats cannot be placed together and the theater has to be “monitored” at all times. For the Pussycat, this is done with a camera placed on the front wall of the theater. I was told the camera is not recording and the staff doesn’t even watch it, but it makes the theater in compliance with the ordinance.

Flash Report! Just Plain Tom Hits Couple's Night at Video Liquidators in Buffalo, NY on 2/15/20!
Doc here, a man who some say has been seen riding silently on horseback throughout the streets of North Buffalo; a headless figure, searching for his Fu Manchu mustache and his aviator glasses. He will never rest until they are found.
The Lizardo Journal Teletype Machine (Model KY69) popped to life early this morning, and out spilled the latest communique from now senior Journal reporter, Just Plain Tom. JPT stopped by Video Liquidators on Elmwood Ave. in The Good Doctor's old stomping grounds of Buffalo, NY. JPT got quite a bit for his admission this past Saturday night (2/15/20), and has a story to tell.
Take it away JPT!
***
Hey Doc,
Just Plain Tom here with another report from the Empire State.
I was in Buffalo recently and decided to check out Video Liquidators – the one on Elmwood Avenue. I hadn’t been there since last summer and heard there had been some changes.
The business is in a large concrete building. There is (almost) indoor parking in the rear. It has a partial roof that’s open at the top. It’s more indoor than outdoor, but snow and rain still get in near the opening.
Inside is a huge store selling videos, toys, lingerie, etc. The two theaters in the rear are pretty large by today’s standards. Theater One (The Pussycat) probably holds 100 or more and shows straight porn. Theater Two probably seats 40 or so with lots of standing room as well and typically shows gay, bi, trans, and other alternative porn (except for Saturday nights). It costs $15 with access to both theaters.
Video Liquidators Buffalo, NY |
I went on a Saturday night which is couples’ night. Theater one was reserved for couples only. This was one of the changes – it used to be the smaller theater that was reserved for couples. Now it’s the larger one and the single men are relegated to the smaller theater two.
I’ve had the opportunity to take ladies to couples’ night in the past, and the action can get really hot in there. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a partner to attend with me on this night, so I was left to go solo. [Note: The couples only rule is strictly enforced!]
I arrived about 8:30 pm and went into Theater Two. I immediately noticed another change since I had last been there: the seats. They used to have “regular” old style theater seats. Those had been replaced by blue plastic seats. These seats are attached to a bar that goes across the row – with five or six or however many seats attached to each bar. The seat backs are very small, but you can pretty much see everything that goes on below which is nice.
One of the regular couples came in and stood in the back. They were probably in their 50s and she always dresses sort of like an old-style librarian. Not an insult at all, but just an observation. Once at a different location I was invited to join her in a booth. She has a hot body underneath the dress and loves to play. They were in and out the entire time I was there. (Ed. note: I know exactly who this cool couple is that JPT references).
After about an hour, a second couple came in. They appeared to be new and eventually went to sit in one of the rows in the front. They didn’t appear to be doing anything other than watching the movie and talking. A little while later, an older, attractive couple came in and stood in the back. He stood behind her and started rubbing her tits, but she didn’t seem into it. He’d pull her tits out and play with them, but she’d pull her shirt closed soon after.
A few minutes later an obviously experienced couple entered the theater. She was a thick, blonde woman in a short black “fuck me” dress with boots. They stood directly next to the older couple and he immediately pulled out her tits and started playing with them – with her cooperation. It seemed they were attempting to entice the other couple to play, but the older woman remained reserved and shy.
After a few minutes, the blonde and her man went and sat in the row next to the first couple. The blonde started sucking her man’s cock, giving us all a great view for a while. When they got no reaction from the seated couple, they abruptly got up and walked out – reportedly to the couples’ theater. Both of the other couples left theater two at about the same time.
Over the next hour or two, two other couples came in, but neither of them stayed very long. It did appear there were several couples going into theater one, so it seems Couples’ Night at Video Liquidators is alive and well on Saturdays starting around 8:00 pm.
All in all, a little action but nothing too exciting. I left around midnight. At the very least, it’s clear that VL is not dead, and I’ll certainly try it again the next time I’m in town!

Doc here once again... Many thanks to JPT for another terrific Flash Report from the front lines on my old stomping grounds of WNY! Video Liquidators is a HUGE facility, and it's covered parking garage in the rear is absolutely Buffalo-weather friendly. And, it's discreet.
Please keep the cards and letters coming in JPT!
Special thanks to Mr. L for the edit!

A Quick Note About Visit Announcements from The Good Doctor
Doc here with a quick note about Visit Announcements here at The Journal.
The Good Doctor does his best when posting adult theater visits from people I either know personally, or people with whom I have at least have some sort of communication history. This has proven to be very effective over time.
In the early days of The Journal, I was stung on multiple instances by fakes claiming they'd show up at a theater, and later to be discovered they were frauds. It took awhile, but your old friend in the white suit and aviators wised up and implemented the current policy, and a one-strike and you're done approach.
Now, there have been several cases where Visit Announcements have been cancelled ahead of time, for many reasons. It happens. I get the cancellation notice out, and everyone understands. It's the right thing to do.
Last night (2/14/20), I promoted a visit several days ahead of time in San Diego at Barnett Ave. Superstore. Everything was on track, and followed up on Wednesday to make sure all was a go. All good I was told. Without going into details, they no-showed Friday night, which is unfortunate.
I pride myself on my reputation, and a no-show on something I put my name to occured. I apologize to all the guys that showed up last night at Barnett Ave. for what should have been a fun night.
There are some great couples in San Diego that visit Barnett Ave. and have a GREAT time, and I will promote the hell out of their next visits (Bad Barbi, I'm looking at you!).
We now return to regular programming.
Thanks,
Doc

Flash Report! Double Florida Flash Report from Raygun in January 2020
Doc here, a man who some say was a 3rd base coach for the Pacific Coast League Clackamas Claps back in the late 1980's. The coaching stint was a short and uneventful one.
On a brighter note, senior Journal reporter Raygun is back with a double Florida report from a recent trip down to the Sunshine State. What did RG find?
Let's find out...
***
Hey Doc,
I found myself in Florida, a state I only visit under duress, so I made time to visit a couple new theaters, or at least new to me. First up was the Pasco Pussycat in New Port Richey. It's an understated place on a quiet road and easy to miss if you're not paying attention.
My first attempt was a bust. I had barely stepped inside the door when they said, "If you're here for the theater, it's closed." It had been an exceptionally windy day with a storm predicted later in the night and their power had been flickering on and off. They were sure it would go out at some point — "It always does" — so they decided to close early.
Pasco Pussycat New Port Richey, FL |
A couple days later I gave it another try. I thought Saturday night might be a good time to find some action, but no such luck. The woman at the counter commented about it being late when I walked in at 9pm, so maybe it's a Florida early bird special kind of place. Either way, I thought I would check it out.
It's only $5 for a single entry or $10 for all day. There's the usual adult store in front and a single theater in back. The theater has twenty fixed seats spaced apart in a way would seem to discourage making new friends, but the rolls of paper towels on a table near the exit told a different story. I also saw a billboard for the place on Rt. 19 that advertised "couples friendly," so who knows?

Flash Report! Bob in Biloxi Returns to the Gulf Coast on 2/8/20 and Spills All!
Doc here, a man who some say was the bureau's go-to guy when it came to hostage situations. This was true in the 1990's. It's even more true today.
There was a time when The Good Doctor's Sunday always included the receipt of a communique from senior Journal reporter Bob in Biloxi. I always did my best to turn it around with the day, as Bob kept a close eye on the Biloxi, MS scene. The theater was the Gulf Coast Adult Theater, along with the ABS right down the street.
After a sabbatical of some length, Bob returned in 2019 with several reports, allowing us to catch up what was happening on the beautiful Gulf Coast. It was great to welcome him back to The Journal.
Earlier on Sunday, the teletype machine here at Journal HQ sprung to life, and out popped a brand new report from Bob!
Let's check it out, shall we?
***
Hi Doc,
I left for the coast on a cool clear afternoon of 2/8/20, that was preceded by low gray overhanging clouds all day. When I finally made it there I was pleasantly surprised to run into some of the old gang at the Gulf Coast Theater. After catching up with them, I made my way to the ABS right down the street.

Flash Report! JaxBchBum Returns to The Big Apple and Takes a Bite at the Kings Highway Cinema in Late 2019!
Doc here, a man who some say was speaking to an emotional support group, and did not choose his words wisely.
I'm not locked in here with you... you're locked in here with me!
In the pantheon of Journal reporters, my good friend JaxBchBum is one of the longest tenured, submitting reports as far back as 2009. They are always detail-packed, and paint a picture of the scene few do as well. This report is no different:
JaxBchBum ventured back to The Good Doctor's former home state, and gave us an up to date report from the Kings Highway Cinema in Brooklyn, NY. It's tasty.
Take it away, JaxBchBum!
***
Hey Doc,
JaxBchBum here with a trip report from the Big Apple.
I had a three-day conference in Manhattan recently and the afternoon/evening of the second day was mine to do as I pleased. So I decided to see if there were any venues catering to this wonderful thing of ours.
Of course, the Times Square/8th Ave area was "cleaned up" decades ago to make it family friendly. I have so many great memories of the theaters there in the 80’s and early 90’s. Once at the Green Door Theater, Peter North was taking on this girl and she was loving it! When the music stopped, they just kept going. Finally someone came out and told them they would have to get off the stage (but I suspect they finished up in the back room).
Knowing I’d have to look elsewhere, I did some Internet research and came across Kings Highway Cinema in Brooklyn. Doc's adult theater database showed it as being closed, but recent reviews clearly indicated that it was in operation. So I consulted the NY Metro trip planner app and found I could take the B train from Manhattan to the Kings Highway station and then walk about a quarter mile to the theater.
Researching the history of the theater, I discovered it was a regular theater that was built before WWII. Like the Strand in Hartford and other old grand theaters, it had its ups and downs. A major fire did considerable damage in the 50’s, and it sat vacant for a number of years before being reopened in the 60’s as a family theater. Not sure when it switched over to an adult theater.
A Google street map allowed me to check out the area and it felt like a safe neighborhood to walk around in. I purchased my MetroCard, hopped on the B train, and 40 minutes later I was at the Kings Highway station. The theater is located at 711 Kings Highway just west of the Metro Station. Admission is $12 and they permit in/out privileges, but don't have a special rate for couples. Hours are 10:00 am - 10:00 pm Monday through Thursday and 10:00 am - Midnight on Friday and Saturday.
The theater has a unique layout that reminds me a bit of the Foxchase Multiplex (now closed) in Alexandria, VA. Kings has three theaters plus arcade booths, and there is a downstairs lounge area with a TV that was showing a soccer match. When you enter the lobby, the door on the far left has a poster indicating a kickboxer movie is playing.
Kings Highway Cinema Brooklyn, NY |
Up two sets of stairs is a theater area I believe used to be the balcony of the original theater. It has a main section and two side sections with a total of at least 150 seats. An older m/f porn movie was playing, but the quality was poor. No one was there so I ventured back downstairs to check out the other theaters.

Flash Report! Just Plain Tom Hits The Paris Twin in Syracuse, NY in Late 2019
Doc here, a man who some say was brought into a boardroom with the marketing boys. They call me "Doctor Lizardo". They explain the name has been chosen for the ominous associations it will raise in America's enemies. They are shaping me into something gaudy. Something lethal.
It's ketchup catch-up time here at The Journal, with a backlog of great reports ready to see the light of day. Mostly positive reports, and a couple negative ones as well. Both are important to gauge the scene in these particular areas.
Case in point: Regular contributor Just Plain Tom (JPT), and his report on a theater I'm very familiar with, the Paris Twin in Syracuse, NY. This report can be filed under "negative", which is illustrated below.
Take it away, Just Plain Tom!
***
Greetings Doc,
JPT here with a report from Upstate New York.
I found myself in Syracuse a few months ago. It was a Friday night, so I decided to check out the Paris Theater. In years gone by the theater provided some fun times, particularly on weekend nights. But most recently I’ve found it to be a disappointment. But being ever the optimist, I thought I’d give it another try and see if there had been any improvement.
The Paris has two theaters both showing straight porn. After entering the front door, you walk a few steps to the ticket window. Tickets are $12 for each side...no discount for both theaters. The theater on the left (#1) is the larger of the two, but both are much larger than what you find in most places today. It’s an old-style theater with high ceilings, multiple seating rows, and that old-timey theater atmosphere.

Visit Announcement! Mr. and Mrs.T at the Barnett Ave. Superstore in San Diego TONIGHT! 2/4/20!
TONIGHT! Tuesday 2/4/20! San Diego's Barnett Ave. Superstore! A last minute Visit Announcement for you, the good readers of The Journal.
First-time contributors Mr. and Mrs. T will hit the Barnett Ave. this evening, and the Mrs. is looking for lots of company to take in a few features in the theater.
The Good Doctor does not have a time, even though I have asked a couple of times already today. If I get one shortly, I'll put it up on my Twitter.
How about some pics of Mrs. T?
