Flash Report! Raygun Hits 18 & Above in Clinton, IA and TR Video in Davenport, IA in July 2022 (with Pics!)

Doc here, a man who some say once built an adult theater in the middle of a cornfield in Iowa.  An otherworldly voice was heard coming from the corn... Build it, and they will come. 

Another esteemed visitor recently hit Iowa, none other than senior Journal contributor, Raygun !  Raygun hit two different locations in this thing of ours, and has words and pics to back up his travelogue from 18 & Above in Clinton, IA, and TR Video in Davenport, IA.

Life on the Mississippi

No, this isn't a Mark Twain story and I didn't make another trip to Hannibal, MO. Instead, I took a short road trip to visit two adult bookstores in Clinton and Davenport, Iowa.

First up is 18 & Above in the old downtown area of Clinton at 135 5th Ave S, within view of the bridge across the Mississippi and practically across the street from Clinton's finest building, Louis H. Sullivan’s Van Allen Department Store, a reminder of better days for this river town. There's a small store in front with an arcade and theater in back. Arcade admission is $8 for an all-day pass and they're open daily from 10am to 10pm except Sundays when the shop is closed.

The arcade has three private booths, four buddy booths, and four booths with gloryholes. There's an extensive selection of movies and even an option to view live models chaterbate-style. In addition, there's a 15-seat theater. The entire arcade is pretty dark, which I liked. It's a no-hassle kind of place where you can hang out all day or come and go as you please. I doubt they see much couple action, but I didn't ask, and you never know.

My favorite off-beat feature was a bin of random stuff offered free for the taking: knickknacks, VHS tapes, and odd stuff no one seems to want, but as the sign says: "Take it if you can use it."

My second stop was T.R. Video on the northwest side of Davenport at 3727 Hickory Grove Rd. An all-day pass is $10 and good until closing as 12:30am, although Shirley the cashier said she didn't expect anyone to be there by then.

T.R. Video is a two-story building with an adult store on the ground floor and arcade above. I was there once before, maybe 30 years ago, but it's been through a lot of changes since then. The arcade occupies only about half of the second floor. The front half seems to be an abandoned remodeling that would have added lots of small one-person video booths too small for any kind of action. I'm sure the regular patrons are relieved that never happened.

As it is, the arcade has an open lounge area with large screen TV, 4 small booths, 5 larger booths labeled "theater" with a designated occupancy of two, and 4 unusual U-shaped booths.

The U-shaped booths have a door at the top of one leg, a TV screen at the bottom of the U, and a bench at the end of the other leg. The seat and door are separated by a wall with a waist-high opening at the bottom. Basically, it's the biggest gloryhole you've ever seen. It's an odd arrangement, but it seems to be popular.

Movies run continuously with only one movie playing in each booth and no choice of channels. The place was fairly busy early afternoon with about ten guys there during my visit. The woman working the counter told me the do get couples occasionally, but it's unpredictable.

There's a third store I had hoped to visit, but it was closed the day I was there. I'll have to save that for a future report.

International Flash Report! Kinky Klosett in Brisbane, Australia by Blacksmith - Part 1!

Doc here, a man who some say remembered that on the roads it was a white-line nightmare. Only those mobile enough to scavenge, brutal enough to pillage would survive. 

The gangs took over the highways, ready to wage war for a tank of juice, and in this maelstrom of decay ordinary men were battered and smashed — men like Doc, the good Dr. Lizardo. In the roar of an engine, he lost everything and became a shell of a man, a burnt-out desolate man, a man haunted by the demons of his past, a man who wandered out into the wasteland. 

And it was here, in this blighted place, that he learned to live again.

I am super excited for the first International Flash Report of the post COVID-era.

I’m a big fan of this thing of ours. I have been to many theatres over the years. From The Tampa Playhouse, Portland's Jefferson and Paris Theatres, to Tampa's Fantasyland. As an American living in Australia, I do miss this thing of ours although I do get back to the US regularly and always manage a visit somewhere.

I recently heard there was a very active scene in Brisbane, Australia. So I am here this weekend to check it out.

I went to Kinky Klosett This is a fairly large adult shop with the entire upstairs dedicated to multiple cinemas and gloryholes.

The main cinema has couches, a mattress/bed, a doctor’s table and a St Andrew’s cross chair. The second smaller room has normal theatre seating. I counted about 8 booths with gloryholes. Interestingly, one booth had a setup for a reverse gloryhole.

There is also a small playroom big enough for one couple with a couch/mattress. This room has multiple CCTV cameras that can be activated from within the room and stream into the main cinema. There are also lots of dark rooms to play in and this place is very couples friendly.

I was sitting on a couch in the small theatre, and a girl come to give another guy on the couch a BJ and got on all fours on the couch. Her ass was inches away from my head so I put my hand on her ass. She looked around, smelled at me and said “you’re supposed to ask first, but go ahead”. They have strict rules and even a dress code for the weekends.

While there on Friday, there were about 3 couples who came into the theatre and played. Some played very hard like the couch girl I mentioned. I was told it was slower than normal because on Saturday they have a big event planned so some people were holding off for that.

One thing I did notice. While I was there six couples came through asking about the event on Saturday (maybe for the first time), and the manager gave them a tour of the place. 

In this thing of ours, we tend to rate the women we see in an ABS on a different scale than in public. Someone who is a five in normal life instantly becomes a 7 when she walks into an adult cinema. The six couples who had the walkthrough we all between 8’s and 10+. These two were the highlights: Late 20’s couple (BF/GF). The girl was a knockout. She had on tight pants and a crop top so you could see her perfect body. She was a 10+ in normal life.

Late 40’s early 50’s professional couple. He came in in a suit jacket and she was in nice tight jeans and heels. Again she was gorgeous with a tight-fit body. She was very enthusiastic about everything and I’m sure wanted to play. Another 10 in normal life.

I hope they all come back Saturday for the party! Should be fun.
