Field Report: The Art Cinema in Hartford by OldBeatNik

The Art Cinema Theater 255 Franklin Ave Hartford Ct is an old regular theater converted to porn. It is located on a fairly busy street in a 80% residential neighborhood. There is no parking lot so street parking it is.

The theater is huge, at least 300 seats on the ground floor and 100 in the balcony which is for couples only. It has a huge screen and shows really boring porn movies that the management changes twice a week. The balcony rows are very close to each other and the seats are extremely uncomfortable. It is not possible to eat anyone out by kneeling on the floor, there is no room. There are arm rests so leaning over would be rather uncomfortable too. The lower theater is better for action but unless it is a theater savvy couple the penis gallery would make any one uncomfortable. The bathroom works and doesn't smell which speaks well but the place itself is run down and needs repair.

Needless to say there was no couples action the 2 hours I was there. I know that's not much time but the movies were so boring I just couldn't stay any longer. The theater may get couple action but I don't know why. They would have to walk down a residential street(with kids and families) to enter a seedy joint. Here is my report from my business trip out to Las Vegas last month:

I recently attended a businss conference out in Las Vegas that ran Monday - Wednesday but they had some pre-conference activities (golf, shows, etc.) that gave me a good excuse to fly out there Saturday morning. I was staying at Paris Hotel which is a great location for a couple of reasons.  First, it is is the middle of the strip so the other major hotel are a close walk by. Second, the self-parking garage that serves Paris and Bally's has great views overlooking one of the towers at Bally's. While I didn't have a chance to spend much time looking, a dedicated voyeur could probably get a lot of hotel room views from the upper levels of the parking garage. 

But back to the story, I had visited the Deja Vu Theatre on 3275 Industrial Road (west end of the strip by Trump Hotel) on a previous visit and while didn't have any luck from this thing we all enjoy, I was impressed by the layout and cleanliness of the theatres - especially compared to some of the other LV theatres - and wanted to give it a try on future visits. 

The DejaVu Love Boutique facility is just north of the Erotic History Museum which would be worthy of a visit on a future trip but I didn't have time.  It is an adult complex that consists of the theatres (3 of them), arcade, exceptionally large retail store selling everything type of adult merchandise imaginable and a showgirls bar.  No admission fee for the retail store, $10 for the theatre and I am sure the arcade is one where you feed the bills.  From my previous visit, I learned that in the evening you can avoid the valet parking (primarily for the showgirls bar) by driving around the back of the building to a well-lit parking lot with an entrance to the retail store. 

A little description of the theatres might also be helpful.  As you walk down the hallway after being buzzed in, there are two openings on your left.  The first one is a small (25 person) theatre showing straight porn on two different flat screens.  The second opening is to the gay theatre which is of similar size and also has two large flat screens.  All of the seating in the theatres are large plush lounge chairs with movable arm rests between most of the seats.  The third theatre is at the end of the hallway and you enter through another door (providing a bit more privacy) at the back of the theatre.  This is a much larger theatre that has 4 flat screens on the front wall showing the same 2 m/f movies showing in the straight theatre as well as a couple of specialized porn (fetish, etc.).  I am guessing this theatre will hold at least 50 people. Same comfortable lounge chairs and some of them are like Lazy-boys and actually recline.

Cordele —  On Thursday May 5, 2011, the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office along with the Mid-South Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant on the business “Love Stuff” located at 105 Floyd Road Cordele, Georgia.

 The search warrant was the result of an investigation that was initiated back in April 2011 when Sheriff Donnie Haralson had received information from a confidential source that illegal sexual acts were being conducted inside the business.

 During the investigation undercover agents were sent inside to purchase illegal items that were being sold from the business and to witness any illegal acts that were being performed on various occasions.
 On the day the search warrant was served undercover agents were sent inside and while they were in a video viewing room that was playing pornography one undercover agent was sexually solicited by a patron of the business. The patron was then arrested and the search warrant was served. While deputies and task force agents were securing the business a second individual was found inside a video booth and was arrested for public indecency.

 During the service of the search warrant multiple illegal sexual items were seized and four individuals were arrested. (ed. note: I have edited out the names of the individuals that were arrested, both employees of Love Stuff and the patrons).

I-Team Report: Tampa Update for May 6th, 2011 by Enzyte Bob

Doc here with an update from Enzyte Bob on the LE crackdown in Tampa & Drew Park (Drew Park is the area near the Tampa Airport that contains the bulk of the adult entertainment business left in Tampa).  Bob has done an outstanding job of researching the initial arrests, and following up on the circumstances surrounding those actions.

Hey Doc,

I have gone through the bookings at the Hillsborough County Jail (Tampa area) for every Friday, Saturday and Sunday since my last review.  I find nothing that would indicate any bookings were made at either Fantasyland (FL) or Fantasyland 2 (FL2).  Now, that being said, if the cops are issuing them NTA's (Summonses), then there would be no booking.  I have no way of knowing if that is the case or not.

I did check the general area of Drew Park for bookings with Lewd and Lascivious Conduct or Exposure of Sexual Organs arrests and found only a couple, and they were nowhere near Drew Park.
~Knocking on Wood~  I think the initial arrests may have satiated the appetites of LE and/or the local politicians.

Well, that is my report. If I can get over to Tampa any time in the near future, I will make a full report on my activities.

Doc here again...Well, maybe the heat is dying down again in Tampa.  It will be interesting to see if anything happens tonight in terms of LE activity, since Fantasyland II is advertising a "MILF" event just in time for Mother's Day for this evening.  The Journal will be keeping a close on the situation.
