Flash Report! JacBchBum Hits Highway 74 Video & Novelty in Gastonia, NC on a Sunday Afternoon!

Doc here, a man who some say is way overdue for a trip to the Carolinas, where the air is clear, the mountains green, and some of the girls are quirky...

My good friend JaxBchBum, a reporter for The Journal since 2009, is en fuego 🔥! Following up his report from Friday morning, he has returned with an outstanding report from Gastonia, NC, and a theater/ABS I was not familiar with: 74 Video & Novelty, which is a sister store to CVE in Gastonia (ed. note: Location now in the Adult Theater Database).

On a recent trip to Charlotte I stopped and checked out 74 Video & Novelty on NC Hwy 74 just inside the Gastonia NC line and think it qualifies to add to your theater database. I had visited the larger CVE before my accident but was put off by the constant traffic between the three theaters that spoiled any couples activity in the regular theaters. I was told that 74 Video is owned by the same folks as CVE, but I don't know that as a fact (ed. note: It is.). Here is the store information: 3510 West Franklin Blvd (Hwy 74), Gastonia NC 28052. Phone number is 704-868-3081 and hours are 10 - midnight M-Thur; 10 - 1 on Friday and Saturday and noon to midnight on Sundays. http://carolinavideoexchange.com/74video.html

On a recent business trip to Charlotte NC I stopped by the Hwy 74 News bookstore/theater to check it out. Only a 5 minute drive off of exit #13 of I-85 in Gastonia NC. Freestanding building with plenty of parking shielded from Hwy 74 by the building and a fenced parking lot. 

JaxBchBum Returns! Waverly Adult Books & Video in Waverly, VA in September, 2018

Doc here, a man who some say spent years as a Civil War reenactor, assuming the role of Colonel Lingus, a fast-taking ladie's man with a wicked tongue and a strong jaw.

In the rogue's gallery of Journal contributors, one of the first to grab a byline here was senior reporter JaxBchBum. Since 2009 he has cranked out reports from all over the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic.  After a stretch on the mend, he has returned here with his 2nd report since the hiatus.  

Featured in this report is Waverly Adult Books & Video in Waverly, VA.  It's been awhile since we have had a report from there, so it's good to get back on track.

I recently found myself in Richmond VA for a couple of days with a light schedule so after checking the adult theater database, I saw the only porn theater in the state of VA was located in Waverly, about an hours drive southeast of Richmond. So off I went.

I arrived on a Monday about 3pm in early September which was fortunate since Mondays and Wednesdays are Couples days when couples are admitted free all day. The store is located on Main Street right next to a 7-11 store with about 5 parking spaces in front and a much bigger lot in the back.

Typical adult store with DVDs for sale in racks in the middle of the store and various novelties on the surrounding walls. Paid my $20 to the friendly, older clerk and asked about the setup. He told me to hang on to my receipt as that would allow me to leave and reenter as often as I wanted to that day. He also gave me a ticket with the date written on it. Evidently if you collect five tickets from different days you get a free admission. One day, I think it is Thursday, you get double tickets.

Bulletin! Fritz the Cat in Triadelphia, WV is Alive and Well!

Doc here, a man who some say is still gnawing on the same turkey leg from Thanksgiving, with an update from senior reporter Anaconda.

Two months back, I received an e-mail that said that Fritz the Cat (a legendary adult theater/ABS in Triadelphia, WV) was apparently closed, which was news to me. I had received a report from there a few months prior, and things were hopping along there at that time. 

The Good Doctor is never one to report any happening from this thing of ours without multiple sources confirming any news.  I sent out a dispatch to all Journal readers stating that if they came across Fritz the Cat in their travels, to please confirm or deny it's demise. I suspected all things were fine there, but I needed confirmations from the field.

Doc here, a man who some say had a flashback to his days as a young Lizardo in art school, marveling at the work of the Italian rennaissance masters, and in particular Botticelli. One of his favorites by Botticelli was "The Birth of Venus" (see below).  Because, boobs.  

Fast foward many years, so when today's Good Doctor's Pic of the Day hit my in-box, my flashback to the mid-80s was vivid.  Is it possible the lovely & naughty That Quirky Girl drew inspiration from my paesano Botticelli?
